Tunisia : A Great Place To Spend Your Holiday
Popular tourist destinations seem to follow fashion trends. When an area becomes fashionable and celebrities are pictured in magazines lazing on beaches and yachts soaking up the sun, it instantly becomes a place where more people want to visit. But what drives the celebrities there in the first place? Do they all just decide to go on holiday in the same location or is there something about the particular places that draws them there?
There are a diverse range of trendy holiday destinations that are constantly popular with tourists, sometimes because they offer the best of one particular thing and sometimes because they are able to combine a number of different things well. Countries around the Mediterranean Sea have always been popular tourist destinations due to the weather, the landscape and the beautiful sea, and Tunisia is no exception.
Tunisia is the most northerly country in the continent of Africa and sits on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, close to Sicily. With a population of nearly ten and a half million people it is certainly not the most populated of African countries, though it can boast an extremely high relative percentage of coastline, with a total of approximately eight hundred and ten miles. Tunisia is bordered by Libya to the south-east and Algeria, to the west.
With such a massive coastline it is not surprising that Tunisia offers some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. Although Port el-Kantaoui is the most popular beach in Tunisia, it is actually a tourist complex that was built in 1979 and based on the French town of Port Grimaud. Tunisia is also famous for its clear waters and coral beds making it a perfect venue for scuba diving. Along with Port el-Kantaoui, another great beach to go diving is Monastir situated on the central coast of Tunisia.
Some of the highest grossing films of the 20th Century were filmed in Tunisia. Films such as Star Wars: A New Hope and The Phantom Menace (21st Century), Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The English Patient were all filmed in the canyons, caves and cities of Tunisia. In order to find the locations it may be best searching the internet for advice as it can be tricky. One place that is easy to find is the Star Wars Hotel, also called Sidi Driss which is located in Matmata. A small part of the film Star Wars: A New Hope was filmed in the courtyard for this hotel and some of the props are still present to this day.

Tips To Travel With Young Children
Traveling with young children will certainly keep one on their toes. There are a number of tricks, however, to help one be prepared when boredom and fatigue overcome your child. These useful tactics will work for every type of travel, whether you are traveling in a train, on an airplane or in the car. The key is to provide variety. Do not leave yourself dependent on one type of entertainment!
Should your child not own a hand held game, it may be an ideal time to invest in one. Keep your purchase a secret until the second it is needed. The newer something is, the longer it can provide entertainment for the child. If your child does already own one of these, think about picking up a new game or two that is compatible with the system. In addition, bring a couple of child-friendly movies. It is a good idea to purchase or rent new movies, but do not forget to bring their favorite movie too, as a familiar movie can be comforting as new places are experienced. Books on CD are a different electronic form of entertainment that can provide amusement as well. They can be purchased or borrowed from your public library.
One more way to entertain little ones is to load a backpack up with surprises. New games or movies could be included in the backpack. Visit the local dollar store and get about twenty children’s toys, gadgets and activity books. Wrap each item individually then allow the child to open one item at a time then play with it until its novelty wears off. Then invite the child to open a new one. When you have more than one child, you do not necessarily need additional toys since the kids can trade once playing with the one that was first opened. Bear in mind you should choose a range of things. Since these are not expensive toys, parents will not get upset if they break or are accidentally left somewhere during travel.
Different items to include in the backpack of tricks are games. Various travel games can be printed off of online sites. For instance, travel bingo includes pictures of items your child will see while in a plane or on a car ride and they can check the pictures off as they are encountered. The license plate game, matching picture games and word searches are some other kinds. Games like this can be found online to entertain a child of any age.
Lastly, add a lunch bag full of snacks. Give the control to your child. Let them know they can determine when to eat what they want here. Include several healthy choices and a couple of treats. Choose long lasting treats that take awhile to eat, such as ring pops or lollipops. Do not forget a few drinks as well. Remember to have a large variety. It is not about keeping them full, it is about preventing boredom.

Travel Insurance
If you can’t afford travel insurance then you can’t afford to travel. With the market of travel insurance being so competitive and the costs regularly reviewed and improved, what has always been a necessity when travelling can now be viewed in a pleasant light and no longer considered as a burden for the average traveler and holiday-maker. It is liberating to know that, just in case you’re out of luck, most traumatic events while travelling can be remedied or assisted by the cover you purchase before you leave. This far outweighs the disappointment of wishing you had spent a little extra on travel insurance. The potential risks encountered when travelling or leaving home for a length of time with only a few bags to hold your previous belongings can be daunting especially when you are surrounded by strangers who do not speak your language!
Even more important than getting travel insurance is ensuring that you purchase a suitable policy and you understand exactly what is and isn’t covered therein. Do not hesitate to voice any queries and always read your policy wording carefully before purchasing your travel insurance. You will find countless reviews online sent in by holiday makers who have lost money because they either didn’t have insurance in the first place or neglected to familiarise themselves with the fine print on their policy meaning they thought they were covered in certain situations when in fact they weren’t.
When buying travel insurance remember that the policy wording can be very involved and specific and underwriters are quick to refuse payment should your policy not cover even a single aspect of your insurance claim unless you know to what extent you are covered, in which case your policy wording is your best asset.
Examples of mistakes that might render you unworthy of a claim: having a different name on your travel documents to those on your passport (for example if you still have your passport in your maiden name and have booked your flight in your married name); not getting a police report to back up your claim; injury incurred while under the influence of alcohol and leaving baggage unattended in a case of theft.
Travel Insurance today is affordable and reassuring but the traveler must take time to understand what they have purchased. The potential risks encountered when travelling or leaving home for a length of time with only a few bags to hold your previous belongings can be daunting especially when you are surrounded by strangers who do not speak your language! Always consider buying travel insurance for your travels, whether international or domestic.
