A Tourist’s Guide To The Greatest Restaurants On The Lower East Side Of NYC
Posted on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Entertainment
In New York City, there are a ton of great places to eat on the Lower East Side. My definition of the Lower East Side is Canal to Houston St (south to north) and Bowery to the East River (west to east). The neighborhood itself was once a Jewish ghetto, but over time has become a trendier area with young adults flooding its bars and restaurants on weekend nights. Back in the day, the dishes associated with the Lower East Side included bagels, knishes, pickles and the like. These days, the area is better known for tapas joints, Asian inspired sandwich shops and sushi bars. One of the greatest delis in New York is unquestionably Katz's Delicatessen on Houston Street. Their overstuffed pastrami sandwiches are notoriously large and you won't come close to finishing them. But you can try. Russ and Daughters has some of the best smoked fish that can be found in America. My personal favorite thing to get there is the "super heeb," a hand-rolled bagel with whitefish salad, cream cheese and wasabi fish roe. When it comes to brunch, Clinton Street Baking Company is my favorite place to go in the city. While a 90 minute wait is very common, the blueberry pancakes alone are worth it. Another fun option is Spitzer's Corner on Rivington and Ludlow. This is the type of place to go after you are done eating and want to get your drink on. The beer selection is vast at this corner bar and you are pretty guaranteed to find any beer you have ever heard of. It's a great place to go regardless of time of day. It is a great time as long as you aren't counting calories, because those beers add up quickly. The writer additionally often writes regarding topics like wireless pc speakers and audiophile speakers.

Online Education Degree – 7 Things You Must Do Right To Succeed
Posted on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Business
For those students who cannot afford the time or money to take full-time courses on campus, an online education degree has removed many roadblocks. In fact, there are several advantages over traditional degrees. Nevertheless, because the methods of instruction and learning are quite different, students need to consider the adjustments and changes necessary to receiving a quality education degree online. 1. Choosing an ideal online education degree college - One of the ways to succeed is to select the right online education degree college. There are many dubious "fake colleges" out there that are only interested in selling their diplomas without providing any quality education and support to their online students. As a result, the diplomas acquired from these fake colleges may not be recognized by prospective employers who simply term then as fake degrees. To avoid this pitfall, it's important to do background work on the college you wish to pursue. Before you enroll, check it out with relevant accrediting agencies to ensure that it is a legitimate college. 2. Check the cost vs. benefit - Many students don't check the cost-benefit factor before enrolling into an online education degree college. We are all aware that acquiring an education requires huge amounts of money. But a smart move is to first compare with what the future earning potential of your profession will be once you earn the degree. Once you figure this out, only then would you determine if it makes sense to acquire an online education degree. 3. How do employers view an online education degree? - There are many instances where employers were skeptical about the legitimacy of online education degrees. With so many "diploma mills" out there, it's warranted for employers to be cautious. Although an online education degree might be legit, it would be very helpful to the employer if you provided the type of accreditation your college has beforehand to avoid any misunderstanding. By letting the employer know in advance that your institution was accredited by an institution that is recognized by CHEA and US department of Education, you will be a step ahead in qualifying for that dream job. 4. Discipline, determination, and time - First time distance learning students are often surprised by the amount of discipline necessary to stay on task and complete the online assignment. It takes unfaltering determination to achieve an online education. In addition, without regularly scheduled classes, it is essential to exercise good time management skills. To keep focused, without the physical presence of educator and peers, it is important to establish communication with other students to have another push toward success in your education degree online 5. Utilize all the facilities provided - Online courses generally provide online lectures and email correspondence to ensure a means of communication with instructors, tutors, and fellow students. Take advantage of every opportunity to utilize these resources of motivation and encouragement, as well as establish a sense of connection with the college or university. 6. Make use of credit transfers - Many online education degree colleges allow students to transfer their credits from courses they took in previous colleges, whether online or traditional. By doing this, it means students don't have to repeat courses they learnt before. For this to be effected, it's important for a student who intends to pursue an education online to make sure they get transcripts and results from their previous universities or colleges and make them available to their accredited online college so they can be passed as transfer credits. 7. Take advantage of technology to complete your class work - Another factor for online education degree success is the opportunity to take advantage of all the conveniences that technology provides. Many accredited online colleges provide students with online digital libraries, databases and resources that a student can use to complete their course work and assignments. In most instances the cost of these facilities is already included in the tuition fees. Thus it makes good sense to make full use of these resources to your advantage. Mary Jackson writes about accredited distance learning colleges and various online education degree courses

The Economic Components Behind the Boise Real Estate Market
Posted on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Finance
Reports indicate that the economy is turning around based on the evidence of a 5.9% increase in GDP and increased business investment reports. As the recession eases Boise real estate will be helped out by the positive news. With the Commerce Department using fourth quarter numbers to project a sound 5.7% increase in GDP, many onlookers were pleasantly surprised to see the actual numbers slightly higher at 5.9%. It was still the fastest pace since the third quarter of 2003. Posting an impressive 2.2% increase, the third quarter led all to date. If we go back to the 2003 number the Boise real estate market would be on solid footing. The economy in the winter time frame posted a 5.7% rate of growth, including all goods and services sold inside the borders of the U.S., according to Reuters. With the recovery seemingly in full swing in the last few months of 2009, our nation seemed to be emerging from the most severe financial crisis since the Great Depression, but that growth has been stymied somewhat in the first quarter of 2010. Even thought consumer spending and the housing markets were down, the fact that businesses increased investment in software and equipment helped add some steadiness to the economy and allowed business to liquidate bloated inventories. As the nation goes, so goes Boise real estate. Demand remains low as indicated by the reduction in actual growth of 1.9% from the projected growth of 2.2%, which reduced inventories and brought some balance back. With inventory figures nearly halved, from $33.5 billion to $16.9 billion, the fourth quarter tailed off considerably. They dropped $139.2 billion in the July-September period. The change in inventories alone added 3.88 percentage points to GDP in the last quarter. Such a dramatic increase has not been seen since the final quarter of 1987. As home materials companies liquidated inventory, Boise real estate reaped some benefit from that. As a whole, the year 2009 featured the most dramatic decrease in GDP, at 2.4%, since the post World War II recovery of 1946. Toward the end of 2009, consumer spending had to be reduced from the projected 2% to 1.7% in consumer spending. Although offset soon afterward, the "cash for clunkers" program drove GDP, by stimulating consumption, up by a respectable 2.8%. A huge block of our economy normally comes from consumer spending, around 70%, but in the fourth quarter of 2009 it only added a minuscule 1.23%. In such a financial crisis, the Boise real estate market is not independent of the national trends. Businesses continued to invest in equipment and necessary software at such a rate that the commercial real estate slump was not a cause of negative number in the Gross Domestic Product in the fourth quarter. Business investment rose at a 6.5% rate, much faster than the 2.9% pace estimated last month. In the preceding three months, it had slid by about 5.9%. With an anticipated increase of 5.7% for the fourth quarter, the construction numbers were a bit of a disappointment when they came in at 5%. Posting an increase of just under 19% in the third quarter, there was quite a disparity between quarters. Contributing a .3% increase in GDP, imports and exports were significantly stronger in the fourth quarter than previously anticipated. In the Boise real estate industry, the GDP and other market factors are closely watched. The author enjoys writing articles about boise real estate & Boise Idaho real estate.
