Posted on Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Finance
I really know that the concept of learning how to day trade the forex market is extremely puzzling to most traders. They don't quite get how the entire process works. Unfortunately, many traders feel like you have to be super intelligent to be able to pull it off. I guess I can understand why traders would feel that way. I think most know that most people that tried to day trade the forex market, haven't done so very well. The truth is there is nothing holding you back from succeeding in day trading the forex market. You don't need an MBA from Harvard. To begin with, many traders just really cant control their emotions when they trade. It really makes no difference of the trading system or method which you are using. Bottom line is if you can handle the emotions of trading, even if it is or isn't working, you will never be able to have success. There is no denying it that. I don't think that there is any doubt that the two strongest emotions that traders have to deal with would have to be fear and greed. Greed usually comes whenever you have made some consecutive winning trades, and you have this extreme feeling of overconfidence. You think that you are able to control the market and make it do what you want to do. However, when it comes to fear, its quite the reverse. It usually occurs when you absolutely have no confidence in yourself, and you dont really grasp why you are taking the trades that you are taking. All you are doing is hoping that you are right. This really boils down to the fact there are so many traders who want to take themselves out of the equation when they make a trade. They would rather just use indicators instead. This separates the trader from the market by using these indicators. Frankly, thats not going to cut it. If you really would like to make money in this business, you are going to have to understand what really makes the market move. This is doubly true when it comes to learning to day the forex market. The sad thing is that most new traders think that there you have to be a intellectual freak of nature to be able to have success. I suppose I can understand why traders have this feeling. After all, only 5% of day traders have been able to have long term success. The thing is, though there is absolutely no reason why you can't have success day trading. It's not like you have to have a degree from Harvard to do it. To begin with, many traders just really cant control their emotions when they trade. It really makes no difference of the trading system or method which you are using. Bottom line is if you can handle the emotions of trading, even if it is or isn't working, you will never be able to have success. There is no denying it that. I can say without any doubt that the two biggest obstacles as far as emotions that traders have to deal with are fear and greed. Greed usually happens when a trader gets overconfident. This is usually due to the fact that they have won a few trades in a row and they are in cloud nine. They feel like they can completely manipulate the market to do what they want them to do. But when you are talking about fear, its a different story, altogether. This happens when you have absolutely no confidence in your trading skills. You don't don't really have an understanding of the fundamentals. These are the kind of traders who hope they are right. I believe the reason why this happens is because many traders really don't want to hold themselves accountable for what they are doing. They would much prefer to let indicators do the trade for them. Traders have to stop doing this. It just not going to cut it. If you are actually planning to make money in the forex market, you better be ready to comprehend what actually makes the market tick. The Concept Of International Emissions Trading In Action
Posted on Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Business
It is commonplace in the global market to witness companies trading commodities. In an attempt to tackle the cost of reducing greenhouse gas emissions as part of a wider goal of addressing adverse climate change, governments are soon to implement international emissions trading, which will operate in a similar way. Various international emissions trading markets can be found throughout the world. They were developed in an effort to control environmental problems, such as greenhouse gas emissions, prior to enforcement of regulations. It is an approach to control air pollution by offering economic incentives to reduce emissions of harmful gases. Governments realize that certain companies may need to emit a larger amount of environmentally damaging gas than another. In an international emissions trading scenario, the government will issue credits to each company allowing them to emit a specified amount of gas. Thus, if one company needs to emit more than the other, they can trade credits. This procedure is known as cap and trade. As there are global treaties in place with the aim of controlling greenhouse gases, the successful implementation of a cap and trade system is expected to lower carbon emissions significantly. The concept is not new however, as it was first used in the United States during the "acid rain" program. In Europe, the EU uses this system in its carbon emission reduction program. Tracking software is available to help a company in the complex task of tracking their cabin footprint in real-time. The software takes inventory of indirect and direct greenhouse gas, showing a company's impact on the surrounding environment and allowing them to identify areas of reduction amid overall management. As companies that emit a larger amount of greenhouse gases pay more than those who pollute less, international emissions trading is seen as being good for the overall environment. These financial penalties should be a great incentive for companies to lower their emissions and help in the efforts to reduce global warming. Countries around the world are looking at a number of initiatives in the effort to reduce global warming. Laws and treaties have been introduced in the United States and other countries with the goal of reducing air pollution. Several chemicals are known to be major contributors: hydrochlorofluorocarbons, chlorofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, carbon dioxide, in particular. Certain products are being phased out in this effort, including refrigerant gas used in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The concept of international emissions trading is seen as being a great example of free-market environmentalism. As companies are very often driven by cost savings, it is anticipated that they will voluntarily implement emission reduction methods, within the limits set by the governing agency.

We are All a Little Bit Psychic
Posted on Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Entertainment
The practice of aurispicy is claimed by some to have originated in Africa, while others assert that it began on the steppes of central Asia. Regardless of the exact origin point, the fact is that the use of bone casting as a means of divining the future during psychic readings is an ancient practice. In fact, bone casting was in some places used not only to foretell the future, but to cast spells and influence future events as well. In modern times, the practice extends to the throwing of dice as well, since at one time dice were manufactured from bone. The Earliest known European mention of the practice was made by the Portuguese missionary Joao dos Santos in 1607, who described its use in Mozambique. Accounts of dowsing can be traced as far back as the time of Moses, though the practice undoubtedly extends even farther into the past. Most students of the Bible are familiar with the story of how Moses used his staff to produce water for the children of Israel in the desert near the rock at Horeb. In addition to the Biblical account, archeologists have unearthed engraved depictions of dowsers at work in both Egypt and China. Unfortunately, dowsing appears to be one of the rare means of obtaining psychic readings that has relied primarily upon oral tradition for its survival, as few written accounts of its use in the ancient world have been discovered. In the 1600s, Baroness de Beausoleil became well known for travelling through Europe with her husband to locate precious metals by utilizing dowsing. It is recorded that in France alone they unearthed more than 150 instances of gold, silver, and iron, in what has to be considered one of the more lucrative psychic readings in the history of the world - from a purely monetary standpoint, of course. Unfortunately, the duo's activities were brought to a sudden end when they were both thrown into prison for engaging in the occult. Even Albert Einstein experimented with the art of dowsing with some success. His studies were primarily designed to satisfy his intellectual and scientific curiosity, however, and he never made any claim of attempting to perform psychic readings of any kind. Nevertheless, the fact that success with a dowsing apparatus could be so easily demonstrated by one whose beliefs lay outside the world of the paranormal is strong evidence in the minds of dowsing's proponents as to its effectiveness as a tool for psychics. After all, if the practice itself apparently requires no conscious psychic attunement, how much more effective can it be in the hands of a gifted psychic! Today, psychic readings obtained through dowsing are rarely ever seen in public. The practice more often remains in the shadows, practiced on occasion by psychics who use the divining pendulums to discover the answer to questions. Because of dowsing's limitations in the types of questions posed (the instrument can only indicate a yes, no, or neutral response), most serious psychics abstain for the practice, opting instead to use methods and tools that offer a broader range of responses for their clients or their selfs. Regardless if its used today many have successfully used it in the pass so it is a successful tool to say the least!
